Can we afford to buy a house?

My husband and I have 2 kids and are wanting to buy a house this yr. because our apt. is getting too small for all of us. We have $7,000 in credit card debt, but other then that we have no other debt. My husband has no negative marks on his credit. He works full time and makes $35,000 a yr. I am a stay at home mom. Do you think we will be able to buy a house this yr.?
